About Signature

Shopfitters at heart.
Builders by discipline.

Signature Commercial Construction grew out of shopfitting and custom joinery — and it shows in every room we hand over. The detail trades aren’t subcontracted afterthoughts here; they’re the centre of the build.

That lineage sets how projects run: drawings before materials, fabrication before site time, and one team accountable from the first scope review to the day the doors open.

How we work

Four principles, no fine print

Joinery first

The detail layer is where fit-outs are won. We plan counters, screens and feature work early — and fabricate off-site whenever the program rewards it.

Honest scoping

If a scope, claim or timeline isn’t confirmed, we say so. Projects run better when the first conversation is the most honest one.

Live environments

Hospitals, shopping centres, trading strips — most of our sites never stop operating. Sequencing around that is the craft.

One team, end to end

Scope review, trades, joinery, finishes, handover. One point of accountability from the first drawing to the first day of trade.

The lineage

From the joinery shop to the project record

The practice started where the detail lives — counters, displays, screens and storage, made to drawing and installed to fit. Full fit-out delivery grew around that core: once you own the joinery, owning the trades, the program and the handover is the natural next step, and clients stopped needing two contractors where one would do.

The record shows where that took the team: cafes, florists and retail inside the Royal Melbourne, St Vincent’s, Epworth Camberwell and Canberra Hospital; tenancies across Pacific Werribee, Casey, Watergardens and Hoppers Crossing; a neighbourhood bar in Point Cook; and a coffee bar built into a shipping container in the Melbourne workshop and delivered to Brisbane.

Based on the Mornington Peninsula and delivering across Melbourne and Victoria, the team runs the same method at any distance — fabricate off-site where the program rewards it, sequence around live environments, and put one name against the result.

The sequence

Brief to handover

  1. Brief

Site, business type, drawings if you have them, timing and the outcome you need. One conversation sets the scope.

  2. Scope & documentation

Drawings, tenancy rules, services, stakeholder requirements — resolved before anyone orders a single sheet of ply.

  3. Joinery & fabrication

The detail layer is planned early and built off-site where the program demands it. Counters, screens, feature walls — ready to land.

  4. Site works & handover

Trades sequenced, stakeholders informed, finishes checked. The space is handed over ready for its first day of trade.

The record
