Shop Fit-Outs & Shopfitting
Shopfitting is where Signature started, and it is still the discipline underneath everything we build: counters, displays and service lines that survive real trading.

The approach
A shopfront earns its keep at the counter line. We plan point-of-sale, display reach and back-of-house storage around how staff and customers actually move, then build those elements to a standard that handles opening-day crowds and year-five wear alike.
Most shopfitting elements are fabricated before they reach site. That keeps quality under one roof, compresses the on-site program, and means a tenancy can be transformed inside a window as short as a weekend.
Shopfitting is the trade layer of a fit-out — the physical making of the tenancy — and it is the discipline everything else here grew from. Where a retail project goes deeper into merchandising and customer flow, the shopfitting underneath it stays the same: elements set out to the millimetre, built for the way they will be used, stocked and cleaned.
Inside a trading centre, the program is half the job. Hoardings, inductions, protection and out-of-hours access are coordinated with centre management as a matter of routine, so the build runs to the centre’s clock without losing a day of its own.

Common questions
- How fast can a shopfitting program run?
- Our fastest documented fit-out windows ran inside 48 hours, made possible by preparing joinery, benches and panels off-site so the install lands ready.
- Do you handle centre management requirements?
- Yes. Hoardings, out-of-hours access, protection and induction requirements are coordinated with centre management as part of the program.
- Can you match an existing brand fit-out standard?
- Yes — multi-site operators come to us to repeat a proven format. The Grindstone barber group is on its third Signature-built store.
- What is the difference between shopfitting and a retail fit-out?
- Shopfitting is the making of the tenancy itself — counters, displays, shopfront, storage. A retail fit-out wraps that trade in the bigger picture: customer flow, merchandising and centre requirements. Most projects need both, from the same team.
- What should a shopfitting enquiry include?
- The site location, business type, drawings or photos if they exist, the scope you need and your timing. Landlord or centre requirements help too, if you already have them.
