The brief
What the job asked for
The second Green Shop Organic, on Victoria Street at St Vincent’s Private Hospital, asked for the formula to travel: the same raw, natural, garden-led character, re-cut for a different tenancy with its own dimensions, services and hospital requirements.
A repeat brief is its own test — the second room has to feel as considered as the first, not like a copy of it.
The build
From drawing to trading day
The palette returned: natural-stained birch ply, pine lining boards, matte white tiles, timber-look floors, a green wall against the windowless space and the suspended steel cage carrying its creeper overhead. Here, pipe shelving does the display work over Corian benchtops, tuning the formula to this room’s stock and shape.
As at Royal Melbourne, food preparation and serving areas were planned to the health department’s guidelines, with hospital building management and the council health department engaged through the works.
On the record
As built, on the books
Together with its Royal Melbourne sibling, this record proves the repeatable case: a brand fit-out that travels between hospital campuses, holding its character while meeting each facility’s rules. It closes the record as the system working twice.
